Delivering Transformative Energy Infrastructure Across Africa
Green Energy Ventures develops bankable renewable energy projects across Africa, with a strong focus on floating solar integrated with hydropower.
Who We Are
Green Energy Ventures is building the largest floating solar pipeline in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our first project, a 43MWp installation on Gabon's Tchimbélé hydropower reservoir, is in active development with the Government of Gabon, and we are progressing a second project on Lac Togo lagoon.

Our Focus
Floating Solar on Hydropower Reservoirs
We develop utility-scale FPV on existing hydropower reservoirs, hybridising with hydro to stabilise generation, optimise water use, and accelerate clean capacity deployment.
Floating Solar on Lagoons and Lakes
We also develop FPV on coastal lagoons and underutilised lakes near urban demand centres — land-neutral assets adjacent to existing transmission corridors.
Complementary Technologies
We integrate battery storage and complementary generation (ground-mounted solar, wind) where they strengthen system economics and grid stability.
Why Partners Choose GEV
First private company to fund utility-scale floating solar development in Africa — a category that has otherwise been DFI funded. Our Gabon studies are formally approved by the Government, demonstrating real on-the-ground execution.
International project finance experience combined with on-the-ground delivery across francophone and anglophone African markets.
With Africans among our founding team, expanding clean power capacity across the continent is as much a personal commitment as it is a commercial opportunity.
